Our Breeding Standards
Registered Parents
Our Bordoodle puppies come from purebred registered ancestry including AKC Poodle and ABCA Border Collies.
Healthy Puppies
All of our puppies are born in our home under strict supervision and all puppies are examined by a licensed Veterinarian prior to joining their forever families. This helps us verify good health prior to delivery or pickup of your puppy.
Fully Trained Puppies
Your puppy comes to you professionally trained, understanding all of the basic obedience commands of SIT, DOWN, STAY, COME, NO, and OKAY. Your puppy is also kennel trained, leash trained, and house training basics have been introduced. Puppy temperament aptitude testing occurs at 7 weeks of age. Pups become available for adoption once trained... usually by 3 1/2 to 4 months of age.
10-Year Health Guarantee
While most breeders offer a typical 2-year health guarantee, Emerald Bordoodles provides you with a 10-YEAR Health Guarantee on all of our magnificent puppies.
DNA Health Testing
Our sires and dams have all been DNA tested for the presence of certain genes known to cause health issues in both poodles and border collies. All of our sires and dams are 100% clear of those “problem” genes that cause Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Degenerative Myelopathy, Seizures, Thyroid Disease, Sebuceous Adenitis, Von Willebrand Disease, Osteochondrodysplasia and Collie Eye anomaly.
OFA / Penn-Hip Testing
OFA and/or Penn-HIP testing is conducted on all breeding females and males. This testing helps us determine whether hip dysplasia is present in the parent dogs and/or probable in offspring. All of our parent dogs must show that they are clear of hip dysplasia and must score above average for the breed.
Early Neurological Simulation
We implement the "Super Dog" program (Early Neurological Stimulation) beginning when pups are 3 days of age.
Advanced Socialization
Because we have many years of professional experience in training dogs, we are able to provide an advanced socialization program which involves lots of love, attention, proper handling and proper sound adaption and conditioning.
Vaccines & Deworming
All puppies are dewormed at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age. Our pups are also up-to-date on vaccinations (5-Way Vaccine). Your puppy packet will come with a vaccine and deworming history and information to schedule continued vaccinations to keep your puppy healthy and safe.
Microchipping
Your puppy is microchipped before arriving to you. This allows your puppy to be easily identified by vets, the humane society, and independent animal welfare institutions.
Puppy Pedigree
Each puppy comes with a pedigree showing the "family tree" going back 4 generations.
